Straight marriages harmed by homophobia

Some gay and lesbian people are getting married today; they are living a closeted life in a heterosexual marriage not being the person they were meant to be. This has severe consequences when it inevitably falls apart; I speak from personal experience as collateral damage of a marriage that was never meant to be.

Even after seeing the movie The Magdalene Sisters, reading articles about the Magdalene houses in Ireland, and seeing all of the controversy generated by the Ryan Report, this kind of stuff still manages to piss me off.

Why the Irish people continue to allow this criminal institution to have so much power in their country is beyond me. Even after all of the atrocities that the church has committed, the church still has the audacity to demand that we respect it’s moral authority. What a fucking joke.
A short time ago, the church even managed to pass a medieval blasphemy law in Ireland. Well, I don’t happen to live there, so let me just say fuck the pope, fuck the child raping, homophobic, misogynistic assholes who work for him, fuck their imaginary deity, and fuck the catholic church.
